Smart Contract Transfer Exchange Platform: Assumptions
Assumptions:
The platform exists as a private blockchain in a single network with multiple nodes.
Despite the fact that in the diagrams used the platform is represented as a independent application blockchain networks can exist on a peer to peer basis where the existence of the application dependents on having multiple participants.
The representation of the platform is supposed to show that the platform is hosted as a private blockchain and that its participants connect and operate nodes within defined parameters.
I.e. each participant connects via operating a some form of a node that giving them autonomy and control over their own data and activity.
There is no authoritative party on the platform.
The big, obvious question is "who operates the network and who dictates the logic?" in laymen's terms "who's platform is it?". This is a conversation that could cover so many (mainly political) topics none of which involve much relevance to blockchain as a technical tool so please go with me when I say....at this point it doesn't matter.
A ‘Platform Operator’ role, in reality would probably be needed, I have chosen not to include them in the designs, as mentioned above, who this would be is a conversation I’d rather not go into at the point but may touch on it in the case studies.
Regulatory bodies exist on the platform. Their real world authority exists in designed logic on the platform. They do not control the platform.
E.g. Fifa have to approve transfers so the smart contract workflow would mean FIFA have to approve the contract for the transfer to complete BUT they would not have any authority or oversight over the initial negotiation process.
The logic of the platform is not slanted to benefit any specific party but build to remove existing inefficiencies and/or inequalities.
The concept is to promote fairness not to make any one participants roll more prominent.
Each participant (whether its club, regulatory body or other) connects to the platform via their own node giving them full privacy control over all their own data.
